The Beachmere Project

renewable power generation

The home is powered in a number of ways…

Solar

dkp_SH_BeachmereS-9422A  4.9kw grid interactive photovoltaic array (solar cell designed to capture the suns rays to generate power) is positioned on the roof to take full advantage of the Queensland sun. Excess power generated will be returned to the power grid, significantly reducing power bills. It is expected that this alone will generate approximately 11.500 kwh/year !

Wind

18FEB14JH-3058 (800x533)Further power generation is achieved through a combined 4.16kw PV array and 600 watt wind turbine which will be used to provide charge to a battery bank. This is the source of energy dedicated to providing an uninterrupted power supply (UPS), specifically in the case of power outages.

The Ecolateral environmental assessment conducted on the home confirms, that more power will be generated by The Beachmere Project than is required to operate it. This  ”net-zero” functioning of the the home ensures its cost effective and operational sustainability now and into the future.
