The Beachmere Project

Hanson cement

HC Hanson logo whiteHanson offer customers a range of specially-formulated concrete mixes that contain a reduced, specified percentage of cement, which is then substituted with waste materials including slag (a by-product of steel manufacture) and fly-ash (a by-product of coal combustion). Their commitment to a waste minimisation strategy focusing on reusing waste in the production of recycled construction materials, also contributes to Hanson’s environmental commitment to sustainable construction and waste management.

A total of 140m3 of concrete was used in The Beachmere Project and was sourced from Hanson plant located 8km from the site. The concrete supplied used 100% recycled water and 100% of natural coarse sand was replaced with manufactured sand.

These products satisfy all Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) Green Star rating system requirements and can add between one and three Green Points to your project.
